Emily LaMonte is originally from Greenfield, Wisconsin. Emily completed two years of pre-pharmacy coursework at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she was honored with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. She then received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy. Her practice interests include cardiology, emergency medicine, and critical care. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. LaMonte serves on the Cardiology Formulary Evaluation Team and is completing the Teaching and Learning Certificate Program. This year, her research will evaluate the use of sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) in congenital heart disease with a primary focus on patients with Fontan circulation. Upon completion of her PGY1 pharmacy residency, she plans to pursue a PGY2 pharmacy residency in cardiology. In the future, she hopes to obtain her board certification and practice at a large academic or Veteran Affairs medical center where she can further pursue clinical, research, teaching, and precepting opportunities. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys exploring new restaurants and breweries/wineries, playing sports (volleyball, softball, and golf), going on walks, talking with family and friends, and cheering on the Wisconsin Badgers!
