Emma Ives is originally from Gurnee, Illinois. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2025. Her practice interests include Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Ives serves on the Antimicrobial Stewardship Formulary Evaluation Team and Recruitment Committee at Duke University Hospital and is completing the Teaching and Precepting Certificate Program. Her research will evaluate clinical pharmacist involvement in primary care management of Continuous Glucose Monitors in patients with diabetes. Upon completion of residency, she plans to pursue at PGY2 pharmacy residency in one of her clinical interest areas while engaging in research and precepting students. Long term, she hopes to obtain a board certification and practice at an academic medical center, where she can pursue clinical and cutting edge research opportunities. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys golfing, baking, and cheering on The Buckeyes.
