Thank you for your interest in Duke’s Pharmacy Residency Program. All of the Duke Pharmacy Residency Programs except for the Drug Information residency utilizes the online PhORCAS Application System.

Application Deadlines
- PGY1 Applications - January 2nd 2025
- PGY2 Applications - January 5th 2025
- HSPAL Applications - January 5th 2025
- Drug Information Applications - November 1st, 2024
Health System Pharmacy Administration residency applicants also must complete a UNC graduate school application in addition to the residency program application.
Complete applications include the following:
- An application form submitted through the PhORCAS Application Portal
- Cover letter (approximately 1 page)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Pharmacy College transcripts
- PhORCAS Standardized Recommendations
- PGY1 programs - Four (4) recommendations (at least two (2) from clinical preceptors)
- Preceptors should comment on the following:
- (1) Describe practice site (ex: number of beds, trauma level, pharmacy practice model, etc)
- (2) Rotation description (number of patients followed, rounding vs non-rounding)
- (3) Comment on clinical skills (if applicable to rotation)
- Preceptors should comment on the following:
- PGY2 programs - Three (3) recommendations
- PGY1 programs - Four (4) recommendations (at least two (2) from clinical preceptors)
- National Matching Services/ASHP Residency Matching Program Number
All applicants must be registered with the National Matching Service.
Applicants selected for an interview will be contacted by the residency program director to discuss available dates. PGY1 Acute Care virtual interviews will be held between January and March.
Drug Information Residency
The Drug Information Residency does not utilize the PhORCAS Application Process. The application should include a letter of intent, curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation. Application materials must be submitted electronically using this link no later than November 1st, 2024.
