Current Residents

Elana is originally from Portland, OR. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Purdue University College of Pharmacy in 2025. Her practice interests include pediatrics and critical care. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Chuaprasert serves on the Children's P&T Committee and Recruitment Committee at Duke University Hospital and is completing the Teaching and Precepting Certificate Program. Her research will evaluate clinical outcomes in lung transplant recipients on apixaban compared to apixaban with concomitant posaconazole. Upon completion of PGY1 pharmacy residency, she plans to pursue a PGY2 pharmacy residency in one of her clinical interest areas. In the future, she hopes to obtain board certification and practice at an academic medical center where she can pursue clinical, research, precepting, and leadership opportunities. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys playing volleyball, being outdoors, trying new restaurants, and cheering on the Boilermakers! 
Daniel is originally from Newport News, Virginia. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2025. His practice interests include oncology and cardiology. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Deanhofer serves on the Oncology Formulary Evaluation Team and is completing the Teaching and Learning Certificate Program. His research will assess real-world efficacy and safety of capivasertib in hormone receptor positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER2) negative advanced breast cancer. Upon completion of PGY1 pharmacy residency, he plans to pursue a PGY2 in one of his interest areas. In the future, he hopes to obtain board certification, lead and contribute to research, and develop pharmacy-led programs within a large academic medical center. Outside of pharmacy, he enjoys watching and playing sports, listening to music, and collecting sneakers! 
Olivia Hanna is originally from Montréal, Canada. She received her Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Cell Biology from McGill University before moving to the United States to pursue a career in pharmacy. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in South Florida. Her practice interests include critical care and emergency medicine. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Hanna serves on the Anesthesia/Critical Care Formulary Evaluation Team and is completing the Teaching and Precepting Certificate Program. This year, her research will evaluate risk factors for subtherapeutic posaconazole levels in the Intensive Care Unit. Upon completion of her PGY1 residency, Dr. Hanna plans to pursue a PGY2 in one of her areas of interest while engaging in clinical research and precepting students and residents. Long term, she aspires to serve in a leadership role where she can help shape policy, mentor future leaders, and propel the profession of pharmacy forward. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and exploring new restaurants and cafes.

Emma Ives, PharmD

PGY1 Pharmacy Resident
Emma Ives is originally from Gurnee, Illinois. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2025. Her practice interests include Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Ives serves on the Antimicrobial Stewardship Formulary Evaluation Team and Recruitment Committee at Duke University Hospital and is completing the Teaching and Precepting Certificate Program. Her research will evaluate clinical pharmacist involvement in primary care management of Continuous Glucose Monitors in patients with diabetes. Upon completion of residency, she plans to pursue at PGY2 pharmacy residency in one of her clinical interest areas while engaging in research and precepting students. Long term, she hopes to obtain a board certification and practice at an academic medical center, where she can pursue clinical and cutting edge research opportunities. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys golfing, baking, and cheering on The Buckeyes.
Hannah is originally from Akron, OH. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from William Peace University and Doctor of Pharmacy/Master in Clinical Research dual degree from Campbell University College of Pharmacy. Her practice interests include critical care and emergency medicine. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Munro serves on the Neurosciences Formulary Evaluation Team and is completing the Teaching and Precepting Certificate Program. This year, her research will be Tirofiban Use for Intracranial Stenting. Upon completion of her PGY1 residency, Dr. Munro plans to pursue a PGY2 pharmacy residency in one of her areas of interest. In the future, she hopes to obtain board certification and practice at a large academic medical center where she can pursue clinical and precepting opportunities. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys reading, playing board games, going on walks with her dog and spending time with her fiancé.
Francheska Rivera is originally from Clarksville, Tennessee. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2025. Her practice interests include critical care, infectious diseases and cardiology. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Rivera serves on the Antimicrobial Stewardship Formulary Evaluation Team at Duke University Hospital and is completing the Teaching and Precepting Certificate Program. Her research will evaluate clinical outcomes of P2Y12i interruption post left ventricular assist device implementation in patients with drug eluting stents. Upon completion of PGY1 pharmacy residency, she plans to pursue a second year of residency in one of her clinical interest areas. In the future, she hopes to obtain board certification and practice at an academic medical center where she can further pursue clinical, research, and precepting opportunities. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys working out, cooking, traveling, and going to stand-up comedy shows!
Morgan Teeters is originally from Tellico Plains, Tennessee. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from East Tennessee State University in 2025. Her practice interests include emergency medicine and critical care. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Teeters serves on the Cardiometabolic Formulary Evaluation Team at Duke University Hospital and is completing the Teaching and Precepting Certificate Program. Her research will examine the incidence of vasoplegia in patients undergoing lung transplantation with concurrent use of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor blockers. Upon completion of PGY1 pharmacy residency, she plans to pursue a second year of residency in one of her clinical interest areas. In the future, she hopes to obtain board certification and practice at an academic medical center where she can further pursue clinical, research and teaching opportunities. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys writing, trying new coffee shops, and cheering on the Tar Heels!
