Current Residents

Abbey Carr is originally from Robbins, TN. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 2024. Her practice interests include hematology/oncology, pediatrics, and pain management and palliative care. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Carr serves on the Children's P&T Committee and Recruitment Committee at Duke University Hospital and is completing the Teaching and Precepting Certificate Program. Her research will evaluate uncovering gender and age differences in EGFR and ALK-inhibitor toxicity management.

Paul Chan, PharmD

PGY1 Pharmacy Resident

Paul Chan is originally from Saline, MI. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Michigan and Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy. His practice interests include cardiology and emergency medicine. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Chan serves on the Cardiology Formulary Evaluation Team and is participating in the Teaching and Precepting Certificate Program.

Katarina Eckstein-Schoemann is originally from Lake Mary, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology and Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Florida. Her practice interests include oncology and solid organ transplant. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Eckstein-Schoemann serves on the Oncology Formulary Evaluation Team and is participating in the Teaching and Precepting Certificate Program.

Shana Katz is originally from Charlotte, NC. She received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Kentucky and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Her practice interests include solid organ transplant and critical care. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Katz serves on the Antimicrobial Stewardship Formulary Evaluation Team and is working to complete the Teaching and Learning Certificate Program.

Morgan LaMarc is originally from Lakewood Ranch, FL. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Her practice interests include oncology and internal medicine. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. LaMarc serves on the Neurosciences Formulary Evaluation Team and is completing the Teaching and Learning Certificate Program. This year, her research will evaluate lower posaconazole levels for prophylaxis of invasive fungal infections after allogeneic stem cell transplant.

Kaely Miller was born and raised in Oak Ridge, NC. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from High Point University Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy and her MBA in Healthcare Management from High Point University. Her clinical practice interest is Emergency Medicine. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Miller serves on the ICU/Anesthesia Formulary Evaluation team and is completing the Teaching and Learning Certificate Program.

Molly O’Connell is originally from New London, Wisconsin. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy in 2024. Her practice interests include critical care and infectious diseases. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. O’Connell serves on the Antimicrobial Stewardship Formulary Evaluation Team at Duke University Hospital and is completing the Teaching and Precepting Certificate Program.
