Francheska Rivera is originally from Clarksville, Tennessee. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2025 and completed her PGY1 Acute Care Pharmacy Residency at Duke University Hospital. Her practice interests include gram negative resistance, antimicrobial stewardship, and public health. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Rivera serves on the Antimicrobial Stewardship Formulary Evaluation Team at Duke University Hospital. Her research will evaluate the impact of implementation of a guideline promoting early IV-to-PO transition for bone and joint infections on treatment practices, safety, and patient outcomes. Upon completion of PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency, she plans to pursue a specialty board certification and obtain a position at an academic medical center where she can engage in precepting, research, and teaching opportunities. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and going to stand-up comedy shows!
