Jennifer Byrns, PharmD, BCPS, BCTXP, CPP is a clinical abdominal pharmacist practicing in the ambulatory setting at Duke University Hospital. She has been caring for transplant patients at Duke since 2013. She is actively involved in patient care, education, and research endeavors in the transplant field.
She earned a degree in Chemistry at the University of North Carolina and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Jennifer completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC and PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant Residency at Duke University Hospital.
Jennifer is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist (BCPS) and board-certified solid organ transplant pharmacy specialist (BCTXP). She also is a clinical pharmacist practitioner (CPP). Jennifer is involved in both state and national transplant and pharmacy organizations holding multiple executive positions. She provides didactic lectures at the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy, Duke University School of Medicine, Highpoint University Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy, and Campbell University School of Pharmacy. Her interest areas are in immunology, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics of transplant medications, and medication related outcomes.
