Shana Katz, PharmD

PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant Pharmacy Resident
Shana Katz is originally from Charlotte, NC. She received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Kentucky and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Duke University Hospital. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Katz is a Teaching Assistant for UNC’s transplant pharmacy elective and serves on the Solid Organ Transplant Formulary Evaluation Team. This year, her research will evaluate the incidence of CMV viremia in intermediate risk (R+) heart transplant patients. In the future, Dr. Katz hopes to obtain board certification in solid organ transplant and practice at an academic medical center where she can be involved in clinical and precepting opportunities. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her miniature dachshund Hazel!
