Katarina is originally from Sanford, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology and Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Florida. She completed her PGY1 Acute Care Pharmacy Residency at Duke University Hospital. Her practice interests include malignant hematology, cellular therapies, and bone marrow transplant. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Eckstein-Schoemann serves on the Oncology Formulary Evaluation Team. This year, her research will be evaluating obinutuzumab infusion related reactions CLL patients receiving montelukast pre-medication. Upon completion of her PG2 residency, she hopes to obtain board certification and practice at a large academic medical center where she can further pursue clinical, research, and teaching opportunities. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys exploring spending time with her fiancé, exploring local farmers markets, going to concerts, working out at Orangetheory, and cheering on the Florida Gators!
