Molly is originally from New London, Wisconsin. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy in 2024. Dr. O’Connell completed her PGY1 Acute Care Pharmacy Residency at Duke University Hospital. Her practice interests include medical/surgical critical care, infectious diseases, and pharmacokinetics of critically ill patients. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. O’Connell serves on the Anesthesia/Critical Care Formulary Evaluation Team. Her research will evaluate time to blood culture positivity in the era of multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR), AKA BioFire®, in critically ill adults. Upon completion of her PGY2 Critical Care Residency, she plans to pursue specialty board certification and obtain an ICU position at an academic medical center where she can further pursue clinical, research, and teaching opportunities. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, talking with family and friends, and traveling!
