NiQuava is a pharmacy student at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. She is originally from Beaufort, South Carolina, and has a strong interest in ambulatory care with a passion for using pharmacy as a tool to improve long-term health outcomes in underserved communities. I witnessed firsthand the challenges patients face when accessing healthcare, which inspired me to pursue a career in pharmacy with a focus on leadership and service.

Through the Duke Clinical Pharmacy Leadership Program, I gained valuable insight into health system operations, participated in high-level discussions with hospital leaders, and explored different areas of health-system pharmacy practice. I gained a deeper understanding of health system operations and strengthened my leadership skills. Most importantly, I discovered that I want to pursue a future in pharmacy leadership within ambulatory care, where I can help shape patient-centered services and improve chronic disease management on a broader scale.
