Shana Katz is originally from Charlotte, NC. She received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Kentucky and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Her practice interests include solid organ transplant and critical care. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Katz serves on the Antimicrobial Stewardship Formulary Evaluation Team and is working to complete the Teaching and Learning Certificate Program. This year, her research will evaluate glycemic control in thoracic transplant patients receiving hepatitis C NAT+ donor organs. Upon completion of her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency, she plans to pursue a second year of residency training in one of her clinical interest areas. In the future, Dr. Katz hopes to obtain board certification and practice at an academic medical center where she can be involved in clinical and precepting opportunities. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her miniature dachshund Hazel!
